As a club, we do our best to participate in our community and help in other outdoor endeavors.  It's a wonderful opportunity to support true atheletes, and those trying to be the best they can be.

Bronze Medal

Well, your team did their best to do you proud....   It was a two point difference between 2nd and 3rd place.  Had we had one more consistent skier on the team, we probably could have bagged a silver.  However, please congratulate the members of the Chattanooga Ski Club Race Team for bringing home the 3rd place Bronze medal in the 2013/2014 season - we are very proud!  Congrats to our racers:  Dan Carroll, Kevin Cleek, Larry Clark, Roy Brunner, Wes Carroll, Butch Cook, Joe Browning, Bobby Roberts, Chuck Corey, Marla Hood, Megan Wiggenton, Tom Edwards, and Angelika Roden; and our most recent addition:  Mike Hood.

Elections Held

Annual Elections occurred at the April membership meeting.  Come to the next meeting to meet the newly elected board members and thank any out-going officers for the great job they've done this past year planning our distance trips and making this club fun.  This is your Club and you make it happen.  Help our club be better - lots of volunteer opportunities coming and more fun outings.  Thank you.

Beer Tasting from Brewhaus

A huge Thank you to The Brewhaus German-American Gastro pub, on the North Shore for providing us with a beer tasting at our Feb 4 monthly meeting.  The cost of $5 per person will be donated to the Chattanooga Food Bank - final count soon, but we think it was $150.  Prost!  Thanks for helping us have a great meeting and help our community at the same time.

Happy Holidays

Our annual holiday celebration was held on December 3rd.  We had wonderful food, a rocking DJ, a visit from Santa, and some great door prizes and auctions.  Thank you to all who participated, decorated, donated, and partied with us.  Our entry fee will be donated to the Chattanooga Food Bank and we raised money for other important charities as well.  We hope everyone has a meaningful, safe, and happy holiday season.  Cold weather is here - try to get out and play, whether there is snow or not.  We will have pictures on the website soon.

Fall Conference - beautiful fall

We had a great turn out for the fall conference out of our club. Chuck Corey gave an outstanding speech on ideas to get more people involved in skiing. We had a team effort on the Halloween costume contest, and we took first place! Check out the pictures on the Club Photos link.  Sights and sounds of Gatlinburg in the fall was great. Saturday morning the high peaks of the mountains were snow covered. As long as you left your car parked, you could get around town just fine, and the tram ride to Ober Gatlinburg was very scenic as the leaves in the higher elevation were bright. Good time to all that went! written by Mike Hood
